It’s Christmas in July! Yesterday I launched my first holiday card collection- the Elegance Collection! To celebrate, there will be a sale on card orders!

One of the many new and exciting projects we have planned for 2010 is a photobooth to add a fun way to get pictures of all the guests at weddings. Anna heard we were working on the plans for it and wanted to give it a whirl at her wedding this past weekend. She even brought an AMAZING frame she found on sale at Goodwill to use in the pictures. These pictures will all be available in her gallery for purchase, but we also loaded them onto the Facebook Fan Page for guests to see and tag themselves in. So… this is going to be a little bit different of a contest AND a giveaway.  In a few weeks we will be having our first photo contest from previous sessions, and I would LOVE my readers to let me know some of their favorite images that Sweet Serendipity has captured over the last several months.  So, here is where YOU come in.  I invite you to look back through the blog (I imported as many old JLS Photography posts over here as space would allow!) and pick your favorite image from a session in 2009.  You can tell me the post title, and then a brief description of the post.  I am going to use these nominated pics for Sweet Serendipity’s first photo contest while will take place October 1st – 5th.  The winning image will be presented to the client as a beautiful mounted 11 x 14 print. The runner up will receive an 8 x 10 as well.

The only catch- you CANNOT nominate your own photo. And one nomination per person, please. Since Sweet Serendipity’s tagline is “Capturing Life’s Unexpected Moments”, the contest is entitled “Life’s Unexpected Moments.”

And of course…. you want to know what the  prize is! I am going to give away two prizes for this contest. If you are a NEW client, you will be registered to win a complimentary session.  If you are an EXISTING client, you will be registered to win a proof set, one of the new products that Sweet Serendipity will be offering.  A proof set is a boxed set of 4 x 6 images from your session.  Choose your favorite 50 images (or duplicates of a lesser number of images) and you will receive them in a fabulous metal tin. This is perfect for holiday gift giving.  The proof set can be from a previous session or one that you schedule in the future.

I honestly cannot tell you how many times people have said to me “I wish I could get married again so I could have photos taken by you.” To an artist that is truly an amazing compliment, and one that means so much to me to hear from family and friends. So that got me thinking…. who says that you have to have a wedding to have a romantic photography session.

JLS Photography is pleased to introduce the Romance Session. This engagement/ wedding style session features you and your special someone at your most intimate moments. These sessions will take place on location in some of the locations that you have seen featured on this blog, or in a place that is special to you. Romance sessions can be used for couples – either married, engaged, or just deeply committed to each other- who want to have photographs that show beautiful your love is. Romance sessions are also perfect for couples who have small weddings or civil ceremonies who choose not to hire a photographer for their event but would like to have portraits.

Romance sessions can also replace the Trash the Dress informal sessions that take place after a wedding as a more informal portrait session of the bride and groom.

Romance Sessions take place on location and last up to two hours
Standard session fee applies ($100 plus applicable sales tax)
After the session you will have access to your online gallery for a la carte or print package ordering.

Another new product! This book is perfect for weddings and graduates! This book will include photos from your engagement or senior portrait session. This is just one of the many new products that I am offering this Spring. Storyboards include your favorite photos from your session placed into a custom design. The sky is the limit in terms of design options/colors/ photos, etc. A regular storyboard comes mounted on 2 mm styrene board and is hung with a color coordinated ribbon.

This new product combines a custom designed storyboard with professional wall art. Your storyboard is designed, then gallery mounted and framed. They are available in both black and white frames (the one shown is black.)
