Erin and Michael :: Engaged! | Ft. Myers, Fl Wedding Photographer

You cannot help but laugh out loud when you hear the story of how Erin and Michael met. She hired a friend’s husband to paint her bedroom and Michael, who works full time as a firefighter, runs the painting business with her friend’s husband on the side. She said she didn’t pay him much attention when he came to paint, and that it was after much persuasion by her friend that she finally agreed to a date with Michael. Their first date was a disaster, she said, from him calling her from the car when he arrived to his credit card being declined at dinner. Luckily Erin decided to give him a second chance and he completely redeemed himself with the proposal which started with breakfast in bed and ended with a night on the town in a limousine.

Erin and Michael are now planning their March 2011 wedding in historic Downtown Ft. Myers. Last week I made the trip down there for their engagement session. After weeks on end of gorgeous weather, the afternoon of our session was overcast and dreary with rain! Special thanks to Michael’s mother not only for the use of her tropical garden for photos but also for being my umbrella holder while we took photos!

I love how they look at each other…. and how absolutely crazy in love they are.

Michael really wanted to incorporate a visit to his fire station into this engagement session so we headed to the Tice Fire Department for some photos. The rain stopped at least, but the sky was still gloomy, which is actually ideal lighting for photography.

For our last stop we went to Erin and Michael’s neighborhood where they have a dock that extends out into the river. At this point the clouds cleared enough for one of the most spectacular sunsets that I have seen. What a lucky day for an engagement session.

Love, love, love the cowboy boots!

Quite possibly one of my favorite photos ever. Made getting rained on well worth it to have a sunset this gorgeous!

And a photo with the rest of the family!

Erin and Michael- can’t wait for your wedding! I hope you love your sneak peek, and be sure to check out your slideshow!
