Paisley :: 8 Weeks | Gainesville Baby Photography

When I heard of Paisley’s story I desperately wanted to do something… anything!… for this family. I know that I cannot ease the struggles that they are going through, but I felt like offering a small gesture of professional photography would give them some beautiful photos of their little one.

Paisley was diagnosed with not just one, but TWO types of leukemia at only 7 weeks old. It is simply heartbreaking to think of having to deal with chemotherapy in the first place, let alone at such a young age.

I met Paisley and her mom Samantha at Shands at the University of Florida late last week. They have been there since her diagnosis and will be there for several long weeks. Paisley will then get a three day break from chemo and will be allowed to return home, only to have to go back to Shands for another round of chemo. This aggressive treatment regimen will continue until she is almost three YEARS old. Can you imagine? Three years of seeing your precious little one ravaged by chemo, which is the only thing that is giving her a fighting chance at survival. My heart hurts for this little girl, and her family, and I can honestly say I have found a new hero in her mother Samantha. Sam has not left her daughter’s bedside since her diagnosis and she truly is one of the strongest women I have met.

I am sharing these photos of Paisley not only to share her cuteness (because if you didn’t know better you would never guess this baby was sick!) but also to ask for help. Any donation that you can make to Paisley and Samantha would be so very appreciated. Samantha is a single mother who also has another son to support and she was set to return to work just before hearing Paisley’s diagnosis. Due to her treatment schedule and compromised immune system Paisley will be unable to go to a daycare until her chemo is completed, so Samantha will be unable to work. They have a You Caring site set up to learn more about Paisley and her story and you are able to donate through there. PAISLEY’S YOU CARING SITE

If you can find it in your heart to pray for this family, send them positive thoughts, make a small donation…. anything that you can do is amazing and so very truly appreciated!

And please, please, please share this post. The more people praying for Paisley the better!!!
